hey mom and family.

ha, yeah we started our thursday by saying happy thanksgiving but then just went right to work. we did happen to stop to get some cake to celebrate it though. there is only one good cake shop here and it is amazing. everywhere else the people make their cakes wet and love that, it is so gross. i'm glad to hear your surgery went well though. i was so concerned and worried but i knew you would be in good hands. we never got a training but there was a training at the stake center so i'm guessing that's what that was. everyone seemed to enjoy it, but i couldn't understand it. we just met with our president at the same time though so i only peeked my head in there. our ward had a christmas party this last week but they left the area to go somewhere else so that was a bummer because we couldn't leave. but some of our investigadors went. i loved the temple last week. they gave us the option to go in english or spanish but i chose english because i get so much more out of it that way, and i love that. i feel like i learn so much as a missionary and plus the people tell us things when we go there. it was cool because i saw the 1st counselor from the ccm too and he was talking to me for awhile. that is really cool my president sent that picture, he is such a neat guy and i love him. he just walks in a room and gets everyone so motivated to work hard and you just want to be a better person after he leaves, i hope to be like that in the future for all my things i do to where i can walk in and a lively feeling just comes. i saw the blog and i absolutely loved the videos. that was so neat, thank you so much for organizing all of that. did rachel do that, thanks for all of that and i hope that you guys had a great thanksgiving. i cant believe that you only have 2 more weeks left of seminary, where is the time going. ha it is going so fast. this wednesday we have changes and tonight we find out if elder hardy or i leave mixco. by the way the official name of my area is, Zona 1 de Mixco. Lomas de Portugal. it is pretty sweet here and i love it so much. it is a lively place and the people here are nice, but man it sure does get scary sometimes. which reminds me of what happened last wednesday. i am pretty sure we walk with angels here mom i kid you not. so wednesday night we were walking home and taking our usual route over this bridge. we were walking home and saw this car parked on the side of the road. i was just talking away to elder hardy thinking nothing of it and we even passed it. after about 15 ft passed it the passenger side door opens and this big scary man came running at us. he had his hand in his jacket which means he had a gun. i seriously stopped breathing and almost had a heart attack. the man walks like 5 ft in front of us and just stands there. elder hardy said. buenas noches. and the man looked at us, then saw our paques and then looked at something else and the man just got freaked out. he looked like he saw a ghost and then he just ran off. he jumped back in the car and they peeled out and we got out of there. i swear he must of saw an angel or something because he booked it out of there so fast. we were so scared though we ran home and then we were just mainly confused. we just couldn't figure out what stopped him. missionaries get robbed all the time here and we don't know why he didn't rob us. the funny thing though is that 2 days later we saw the car again and the man honked at us and saluted us. we are so confused though. but man i sure do pray for safety all the time now. so yeah that was the scary part, anyways we don't get packages here until the christmas conference so i wont be getting the card until then but you´ll find a lovely surprise in the mail soon. that is so crazy that irhs is going to state, good for them. i hope they can win. did they beat centennial. that is crazy. and no i haven't heard from gage yet, can you get his address so i can write him. devans too. well i hope you guys have a fun safe trip to phoenix i will talk to you guys next week and let you know about all the changes. i don't think i'm going anywhere though. well i will talk to you later, i love you all so much.

love elder daniel shipley
