FIVE Emails in ONE day. What the...........???

Hey there, how is it going. Well i have been here a week in the ccm now and it is going really well. They maestras pretty much only speak spanish with us so i feel like my understanding of the language has increased tremoundously. Also last night i talked with a native for about an hour in our rooms. We were going through our pictures and talking about our families and stuff and about where we were from. one of the natives tried giving me tounge twisters in spanish to mess with me so i gave him and english one right back, i told him to say supercalifragilisticexpialidochish. im not sure on the spelling but it kept him entertained for a couple hours. it is funny here because the latinos, if you tell them one joke they keep that joke forever, they never let things go. they help teach us too. By the way i got your letter yesterday, so it took 13 days for that dearelder. i guess it takes a week to get here, but for some reason it takes another week from the mail office to the ccm. everything in the ccm is safe is pretty safe and there is nothing to be scared of here. all the food is safe as the president says and they take good care of us. the lunch ladies are hilarous. Here in guatemala if you say gracias, (only in the comedor) they say provecho back to you, which means like goodluck with your food or something like that. Anyways whatever tone you say it in they copy you back. Me and this other kid named Elder Woodfield try to sing it to them, or say it really deep, and they have a hard time but they try so hard to mimmick it back to us. ha. The president here is really nice and he takes care of us alot. One of the elders in our room snores so bad, so the president went and got us ear plugs to help our sleep. Also all the elders are jealous of me and my companion because next week we get to go to the area doctor to get a wart removed off my thumb. The presidents wife is taking us and told us that it will take a while and that we will get lunch and stuff. Also two weeks from tomorrow we get to go to the market and buy stuff and practice our spanish there, and i think in one week they take us to a museum. Um the temple here is pretty small, but our teacher tells us that it is two stories and goes underground. oh also on sundays instead of having church here at the ccm, we go to the temple chapel so that is pretty cool. Its amazing to me, they tell us all the time that we are in the nicest part of town, but it still looks run down. but it is green everwhere and it is like living in one of the towns you}d see in california, My companion, His name is elder rex and he is from san diego california. His dad is the ceo of some Public speaking company and he is a very interesting guy. Everyone in our zone is really funny and it is a blast to be around all of them. We teach a ton in spanish and practice so much. The food started out bad here but i am starting to get used to it. I have like 3 of the pb and j sandwiches every day, and the bananas here are amazing. also they make some pretty good pancakes and frenchtoast, and have some interesting drinks here but they are all good. I am writing in my journal every night, but when i finish it i plan on sending it home and then you can read about some of my expierences. so the letters here, they told us to let you guys know this, you should write to the ccm for the first 3 weeks were here, but for the second 3 weeks you should send the letters to the field so they are waiting for us there, otherwise it will take longer to get to us. I cant wait to get out of the ccm though and start on my work. I definately miss the provo mtc a lot more because it was such a nice place and there was so much to do there, but i feel like i am learning more being here in guatemala. well i have to get going, ill talk to you later. i love you all - elder shipley



why havent you checked your email all day today.(Oh man, the only day - I decide to be gone ALL day - I left home at 6:30a.m. and returned at 5:00p.m. - and did not check my email until 9:15 - because TODAY is NOT WEDNESDAY!!!) ha, well a couple more funny stories i guess. so a joke we have with the latinos that they think is absoutely hilarous, as americans we always say what in the world, so we translated it to say que en el mundo, and now they say it too. and then the next one is that pues pues pues, mire que tenamos aqui, which means well well well, look what we have here. it is pretty funny. also i just got back from the temple today and it was pretty cool. although it was english, our president was with us and some of our teachers, it was cool, and it is so beautiful in there. I cannot wait for when you and dad can come to Guatemala and go in that temple too. well i have to get going. ill talk to you next wednesday. Oh and the reason why i havent emailed you tomorrow is because tomorrow is Guatemalas independence day, so there will be tons of fireworks here.
