Guatemala City South

hey guys,

wow i had quite the week. well to start off, on tuesday we had our district meeting and i had to give a talk in it. it was pretty funny because my comp told me like 5 mins before it started so i opened my bible and talked about the 10 virgens and talked about them and then asked them which of the 5 do they want to be. the good and prepared or the not prepared at the 2nd coming and be ruined. that was cool because it really made me think of things. i really want to be prepared for a lot of things. it is scary that the 2nd coming could happen tomorrow and the world would be done for. and all Jesus would say is, "i know ye not". so that is a new goal of mine to be more prepared and learn as much as i can.

then we went on divisions. i went with this other elder named elder thornton. he is a really cool guy and we had a lot of fun and worked pretty hard. we were teaching this guy and i was teaching him about baptisim. and he was just saying all the time that he didn't want to make any commitments because he didnt want to let us down. and i told him that it was ok and then i taught him about making goals and how he can be successful at making goals and working towards these goals and how they are really important. there was a study done in harvard and it was like there was a class of 100 students and 3 of the students made goals and accomplished them. everyone graduated but when they looked at those 3 vs 97 later on in their lives, they noticed that the 3 made more money combined then the rest of the class. they say that they kept making goals for the rest of their lives and that it has really helped them in acheiving so much in their lives. that was really cool. anyways so me and elder thornton worked pretty hard and got alot done.

but thursday morning when we were supposed to end divisons, we were waiting for our comps underneath a bridge. then the AP and the ZL came up to us out of no where and told us that our comps were idiots and that they needed to be in the office as soon as possible and that president was furious. i was pretty nervous for them because elder wood was pretty mad too. then they left and told us we would find out later what happened. so they show up like an hour late and we take them to the office and they knew what they did and were scared too. so i guess that the night before my comp went on other divisions which makes it illegal divisions, and then the other comp went outside the cap with some other elder and ....... they are so dumb, so anyways we get to the office and president walks in and is talking to us but then walks right passed all the kids in trouble. then he yelled at them to get in his office and man you could hear him screaming from outside his office. it was intense. he was furious. so after the office, we had to go home and my comp, had to pack up and he was to go to the white house and stay there that night and find out in the morming if he was going home or just getting emergency changes. i guess pres wanted to send them all home right then and there. but i think the area president said no so they didnt go home, which is dumb, but oh well. they really need to go home, they are making a joke of the mission and it is sad. it is so sad to me that these people can just come here and think they can do whatever they want to do. i really do feel bad for them that they cant understand that. so that night i went with elder thornton to his area and we talked with a couple familias, they were so cool and they are all getting baptized the next day, and they were just so cool.

the next morning we got a call and we were recieving new comps and so now i have a new compaion and his name is elder Interiano from Hondurus.haha that is funny,
my language is going good and i am going to learn a lot this change, elder interiano knows no english - it's intense. he is a pretty cool guy and he is willing to work really hard and we are going to get alot accomplished this change which i am so excited for, my goal for this change is to have 10 baptisims and i think it is possible because we are trying a new approach at the work by working with the ward.it is going to be good and im looking forward to these next couple weeks. the ward was really happy to find out that i was staying though, i guess they didnt really like my comp. which is sad but oh well. there was so much that happened behind my back that im just not to happy about but oh well, learn and move on is what the president told me.

so anyways with my new comp, we are starting to do family home evenings with members and there we get referencnes for people to go teach. it is working really well and im going to have a great next couple weeks. then i think that i am leaving mixco the next change so we will find out then. but yeah, how is everything at home, i miss you guys and love you all so much. oh p.s. i could really use the clippers for my hair, so if you could please send those with brother banner. thanks. i love you guys and i´ll talk to you later. hope you have a great week.
