hey there mother.

Bahahaha, that is so funny, I wonder what daisy will do when I get home, and I wonder if she will even remember who I am? I doubt she will but we will see.

My companion goes home next week, so I will be getting my new comp very soon here.

Being in the temple with people you know  makes it that much better. I can’t wait to come down here and go to the temple with you guys and all the people who mean a lot to me here in Guatemala.

Nanny needs you. You need to be the one to help her read and study the gospel. You are the right hand person for her and she needs you. Help her, invite her and she will come unto the gospel. I know your trying hard mom and that is great. Push her because you love her. The bishop can not give visiting teachers to non members but what he can do is have an assigned companionship of elderly ladies as ward missionaries go and visit her. So that might be something you can consider.

I´m glad to hear that you guys are staying really busy lately. I have been busy too. We have been out of our area for the past 3 weeks and finally we are home for a while. With little meetings here and there. But we will have some good time to work hard and have fun.

I can’t believe that Brother Coats died. That is so sad. He was a great guy, but I imagine he is up there happy as can be with his sweet wife.

In Spanish we say, perseverar hasta el fin (endure to the end). Interesting huh?

Mom you did a great job raising us as kids. I know that is something that I am going to do a lot with my kids though. Always read the scriptures and always pray together. Always do Family Home Evenings and always strive that my kids excel in school. Put them in after school programs to keep them away from the harm of the world and just let them grow up and be successful. I love this gospel so much and really it is the truth, if we live it to the fullest, and do all we need to do, then we will indeed have the families that we all want to have in this life. I love Jesus Christ and all the guides He gives us here.

So a little about my week. So elder Chaves is going around to his areas saying good bye and we went on divisions to do it, so I went to San Francisco to help the elders there and help them find some new investigators. Also there is a man who is going to make DVDs for us so I took advantage of the time and saw some people that I know. It was cool. We had a delicious lunch with Mama Linda. And then we went with the family Reyes. It was cool. And we found a lot of new investigators for them, as well as some that were old investigators. It was cool. Also we have this family that we are teaching now; they are the family Juarez from my area. They are way cool and they are moving along really well in the lessons. We are really concerned though because we don’t have the 5 families that are progressing. We have like 1 family. So we are working really hard on trying to find some new families to teach. Hopefully we can start being successful in that.  Everything is going great. I love the mission so much mom and I am kind of happy that I have 6 months left still. I can’t wait to see you guys, but it sure is going to be really sad to say goodbye to a lot of these people. Well I sure do love you all. I will talk to you later.

Love always Elder Shipley
Ps next week is changes and I will be directing and receiving my new companion. How weird is that. Never would I have imagined that I would be leading that meeting.
