Hey there family and mother:

You my friend are never ever going to guess what has happened and as to why I am emailing you on Saturday instead of Monday.

Well, mainly it is because my new p days will be either Saturday, or it could be Monday. Depending on what my companion and I want to do it.  I had changes this last week and you will never guess where I am.

I am in an area called Trebol, My new companion is Elder Chaves and he is from Costa Rica. He is a really cool funny and hard worker kind of guy. Anyways, I am also now the Assistant of the Mission. How cool is that?  I was pretty dang shocked.  Last Monday we were taking the new changes and they announced that I had changes we were really confused but oh well. So all day Tuesday I spent the morning packing and then in the afternoon I went around and said my goodbyes to the people that I have met there. I didn't really get to know the people too well but there was like 2 or 3 families there that were really cool. I highly doubt they will remember me though. It was a bummer because we were starting to have some success there and with the stake president.

Wednesday we went to changes and we were there and I was thinking they were just going to send me to another zone leader area and they get to the last zone and they announced the zone leaders and I was just like, oh well, maybe I will just be a normal missionary again.  Then they announced, Elder Chaves receives the new assistant of the mission, Elder Shipley. Ha, it was pretty cool.

Anyway we have been really really busy, but I will not lie. We are living the life right now. We are living is the Casa Blanca which is the biggest house in the mission and it is huge. We live there alone but it really is big enough for like 30 missionaries. Wednesday night all the elders that were going home had a dinner at President's house so we went there and we went to dinner with them. We had to bring something from the office, so I got my first experience driving here in Guatemala. Ha ha it was pretty fun, I drove president's car, it is really nice. We had dinner and then got all the missionaries home, and Thursday morning at 5 am they were on there way home. So we mainly work in our area.  We stop by the office every once in awhile, or we go and do the things that we need to do in the mission, but the nights we are always in the area which is good. The phone we have, never stops ringing. It is crazy.

We also have a maid in our house.  She made my bed for me, but we have to do our own laundry, luckily we have a machine though which is really nice.  Ha ha, me and my comp are just having so much fun, and having a lot of really funny moments. Last night supposedly I was sleep talking and walking and my comp saw me and said, "what are you doing?", and supposedly I ran and jumped into my bed. Then later on that night I wake up and he was standing on his bed jumping up and down. and I was just like, "what are you doing?".  So this morning we wake up and I told him about that and then he told me what I did and we were dying of laughter. It was so dang funny.

Anyway for investigators we are doing pretty well here. We have some great families for the moment. We have this one lady who's name is Dulce Maria and she is really nice. We have a plan to meet her husband tomorrow so we can start teaching them as a family and hopefully it goes really well. She is really excited to learn the things about the church, and in the 5 years that she has been receiving the missionaries, she told us she is finally ready to get married and maybe start thinking about baptism. It was a cool lesson. So we will start working really hard on that one so we can make it happen. Another cool thing that happened was that we went down this one street and we were looking for a house and I see this house that had a ton of balloons on it so I decided to contact it. We contacted into this one guy who's name was Jose and he is a really cool guy as well. We just taught him about the beginning stages of teaching and everything and it went really well. He wants to learn more and so we will start teaching him as well. Hopefully we can get his whole family involved as well too.

But yeah mom, I love you. Right now I feel like a hot potato because I have no idea what I am doing. I am just kind of following my companion around but he is such a great man. He leaves after this change though.  We have a whole new office of secretaries too so we are all really new at all of this. But I know the Lord will help me in this calling and that He will not leave me alone. He never has, and He sure won't start now. Well I hope all is well. I love all of you so much and miss you a ton.

President tells me, with all the work that I will be doing, he said these last few months are going to feel like a day. Well it should be a interesting couple of months now.

So just so you know write me on Fridays now so I get your emails on Saturdays, in case we decide to go into the office Saturday instead of Monday.

Alright, I love you all.

Love Elder Daniel Shipley
